With a strong and growing presence in key markets such as the Bay Area and Los Angeles we are expanding our impact through projects that reflect our values of technical excellence, sustainability, and improving communities. Based in our Los Angeles office, the Structural Engineer will play a key technical role in the support and delivery of projects. Our Buildings portfolio spans a wide range of complex work, including transportation (rail/LRT/road), retaining walls, underground and buried structures, transit station structures, and other civil infrastructure. Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to: Developing conceptual, preliminary, and detailed final designs using industry-standard analysis and design softwareActively participating in project, client, and team meetingsAssisting and mentoring junior staffReviewing, preparing, and modifying designsAnalyzing and preparing type studies, reports, specifications, quantities, and estimatesCoordinating with multidisciplinary teams, including technicians and design professionals across officesAttending onsite meetings across project locations, including our growing markets in Los Angeles and AustinGaining exposure to project, commercial, and client managementUndertaking a ‘digital by default’ approach in deliverables Candidate Specification The ideal candidate will have the following experience: A bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering from an ABET-accredited university4+ years of structural engineering experienceExperience working with AASHTO, Caltrans, AREMA, ASCE, and CBC design codes and standardsExperience with California seismic analysis and designProficiency in designing structures and foundations using cast-in-place reinforced concrete, precast/prestressed concrete, post-tensioned concrete, and structural steelA methodical approach to problem-solving, with the ability to work independentlyStrong verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging clients and teams across multiple regionsExcellent technical writing and attention to detail, including preparation of drawings and reportsStrong teamwork and collaboration skills across distributed teamsA California Professional Engineer (PE) licenseBuild on your experience while helping shape what comes next.
