Accountant IIThe Accountant II is responsible for supporting accurate and timely financial reporting through routine accounting functions and reconciliations. This role ensures the integrity of financial data and contributes to efficient month-end processes, while maintaining compliance with internal policies and procedures.Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. The employee is expected to perform other tasks, duties and trainings as dictated by their manager.Accountant II Responsibilities:Prepare, check, proof general ledger reconciliation and corporate accountsExamine outstanding items and discrepancies and ensure adequate follow-up to clear outstanding itemsUpdate end-of-month entries to include accruals, prepaid, depreciation, etc.Verify details of business transactions and supporting documentation to ledgers/computer spreadsheets/databasesAssist with all end-of-month processes to close month end timelyProcess daily transfers to ensure funds availabilityLoad and balance core system extract to accounting systemActs as a back-up to the Accountant IMember Service:Come to work every day with a member focused passionate, and dedicated mindsetApproach every member situation from a caring, helpful, and openminded positionProactively approach issues and offer creative solutions that will make doing business with RGCU easierAssists in any other areas as directed by the Accounting Manager, Senior Management and/or President/CEO.Report all suspicious activity to the Risk Management department via the compliance group emailSupervisory Responsibilities:This position has no supervisory responsibilities.Competencies:To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:Attention to Detail – The ability to process detailed information effectively and consistently. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must have a comprehensive knowledge of accounting procedures, principles, and standards. Possess comprehensive knowledge of reconciliation.Computer Skills:To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of software used to perform accounting.
