• Weekly Estimated Pay: $6,150 – $7,280 (competitive locum tenens pay)

• Shift: 24-hour call shifts (7am–7am)
• Schedule: 10–14 days of call coverage per month
• Support Staff: 3 Physician Assistants and full ancillary team
• EMR: EPIC (experience preferred)
• Lodging: Provided (standard/economy rates)

Required Qualifications

• Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery (Cardiac Surgeon/Thoracic Surgeon)
• Active Ohio medical license or ability to obtain promptly
• Fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Surgery
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 1 year of post-training clinical experience
• Experience with EPIC EMR preferred
• Must be available for the specified coverage dates and able to perform listed procedures
• Self-query NPDB within 30 days of presentation

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour call coverage for the cardiothoracic surgery service (locum tenens coverage)
• Perform cardiothoracic procedures, including:
  • Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)
  • Arterial revascularization (internal mammary, radial, gastroepiploic)
  • Redo coronary revascularization (with/without valve surgery)
  • Pericardial window procedures
  • Heart valve repair and replacement, including mitral valve repair
• Round on adult patients, manage post-op care, and coordinate handoffs
• Document all clinical care and procedures in EPIC EMR accurately and timely
• Collaborate closely with physician assistants, anesthesia, ICU teams, and ancillary staff
