Position Summary

This senior technical role analyzes, designs, modernizes, and improves enterprise information systems supporting Nation's Best Sports operations. The Senior Systems Analyst works with business stakeholders, IT leadership, and engineering personnel to assess current systems, define requirements, evaluate technology and architecture options, develop system specifications and modernization roadmaps, and guide implementation. The role provides senior-level systems analysis and technical leadership across enterprise applications, integrations, databases, cloud services, security, and modernization.

Business Hours: In-Person, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

Systems Analysis, Architecture & Modernization

·   Analyze enterprise applications, databases, integrations, workflows, and technical architecture to identify limitations, performance issues, security concerns, technical debt, and improvement opportunities.

·   Assess legacy and business-critical systems and develop modernization roadmaps balancing business value, maintainability, security, cost, operational risk, and technical debt.

·   Develop system specifications, solution architecture, data-flow requirements, and integration designs for enterprise applications, APIs, databases, and related systems.

·   Evaluate architecture and platform options, including cloud services, messaging, caching, containerization, virtualization, and distributed architectures, and recommend approaches based on business needs.

Business & Technical Requirements

·   Partner with business stakeholders and IT leadership to define business and technical requirements and translate them into system specifications and technical recommendations.

·   Evaluate proposed solutions for alignment with business objectives, system constraints, security, scalability, maintainability, and operational impact.

·   Serve as a technical bridge among business stakeholders, IT leadership, and engineering personnel throughout planning, implementation, and validation.

Data, Integration & Performance Analysis

·   Analyze SQL Server schemas, indexing, queries, and application behavior to identify performance bottlenecks and recommend improvements.

·   Assess integration requirements among user interfaces, APIs, backend services, databases, cloud services, and enterprise systems, and define data-flow and interface specifications.

·   Plan and guide application, data, and system migrations, including dependencies, data integrity, implementation risk, testing requirements, and downtime considerations.

Implementation Oversight, Validation & Support

·   Review and validate implemented solutions against system requirements, architecture standards, performance expectations, security requirements, and business objectives.

·   Guide technical implementation and troubleshooting for Microsoft IIS-hosted applications, including configuration, authentication, logging, deployment, and performance considerations.

·   Analyze application lifecycle, deployment, security, and reliability requirements and recommend improvements to CI/CD, observability, testing, vulnerability management, and operational support.

·   Use scripting, automation, and other hands-on technical tools as needed to validate, troubleshoot, prototype, or support system implementation and modernization.

·   Evaluate AI-assisted engineering tools for appropriate use in analysis, documentation, troubleshooting, testing, modernization, and developer productivity while maintaining human review and accountability.

Qualifications & Skills

Required Qualifications

·   Relevant post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering Technology, or a related field, together with substantial professional experience in systems analysis, enterprise applications, architecture, modernization, or systems integration.

·   7+ years of progressively responsible experience in systems analysis, enterprise applications, application architecture, modernization, systems integration, or closely related information technology functions.

·   Experience translating business and technical requirements into system specifications, solution designs, and implementation plans, with strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

·   Strong understanding of C#, .NET/ASP.NET Core, SQL Server, RESTful APIs, and enterprise application architecture, including SQL Server performance and data models.

·   Experience with Azure, Azure DevOps, CI/CD concepts, cloud integration, and modern deployment practices; familiarity with Angular/TypeScript or other modern frontend frameworks.

·   Strong understanding of secure application architecture, OWASP principles, software quality, reliability, and common application vulnerabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

·   Legacy .NET modernization, framework migration, and enterprise application transformation.

·   Experience with data, integration, and cloud technologies such as PostgreSQL/Aurora, Redis, messaging, event-driven architectures, Azure/AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes.

·   Experience with React, Node.js, Python, or AI-assisted engineering tools for analysis, prototyping, automation, reporting, or supporting workloads.
