BAM's Execution Technology team builds microsecond-aware systems that sit at the core of our business. Our platforms support large-scale transaction flows with microsecond latency and high fault tolerance. As ambassadors of leading-edge design and engineering, we are looking for a Senior Engineer to help shape the next generation of execution platforms. This role is suited to a hands-on technical leader who thrives on solving complex engineering problems, driving projects from inception through delivery, and elevating the capability of the wider team through mentorship and technical leadership. We are looking for candidates who share a passion for tackling complexity and building platforms that can scale through multiple orders of magnitude.ResponsibilitiesDesign and build high-performance trading algorithms and distributed system componentsLead the delivery of strategic engineering initiatives from initial concept and design through implementation, rollout, and post-production supportTake ownership of complex technical projects end-to-end, coordinating across engineering, trading, and business stakeholders to ensure successful outcomesProvide technical leadership across the team, helping shape architecture, engineering standards, and development practicesMentor and up-skill engineers through coaching, design collaboration, and hands-on support, helping raise the overall technical capability of the teamRaise the bar through rigorous design and code reviewsOptimize relentlessly — improving efficiency, scalability, latency, and stability across our systemsBridge the gap between technology and the business, collaborating directly with traders, portfolio managers, and risk teamsIdentify opportunities to simplify, modernize, and strengthen the execution platform as business needs evolveMinimum Qualifications10–15+ years of experience building financial or trading systems in JavaExtensive experience with multithreaded/concurrent programming, including lock-free algorithmsStrong experience designing and developing distributed systemsProven track record of leading complex technical projects from start to finishDemonstrated ability to mentor engineers and contribute to the growth and development of a high-performing teamExcellent verbal and written communication skillsThrives in a fast-paced environmentFamiliarity with AI-assisted development tools for planning, code generation, and testingComfortable reading and maintaining systems built in C#Even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, we'd still love to hear from you—if you're excited about this role, we encourage you to apply!
