Commercial Lines Account Manager

Overview Brown & Brown is seeking a Commercial Lines Account Manager to join our growing team in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The role focuses on retention and client relationship management of large commercial accounts across various industries. Responsibilities Work with large commercial clients to provide exceptional customer service. Handle client requests for information, endorsements, forms, and rates; recommend changes or amendments. Review and analyze policies, endorsements, forms, and rates for accuracy. Oversee endorsements, binders, certificates, invoices, automobile identification cards, and related items. Review suspense items regularly, re‑suspending or handling as appropriate. Maintain account files, ensuring documents are correctly filed. Assist with clearing omitted items, account differences, and commission differences. Coordinate premium financing needs with Accounting Department. Communicate with markets and clients and accompany producers on site visits as required. Market assigned accounts, obtain and evaluate quotations, and recommend markets. Maintain knowledge of carrier underwriting criteria, deviations, plans, and marketing policy. Negotiate with company underwriters and manage rate approvals. Qualifications 5+ years in an independent agency setting servicing commercial accounts and marketing renewals. Strong knowledge of the Florida insurance marketplace and commercial lines procedures. 2‑20 license required; strong interest in obtaining additional insurance designations. Specialized knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, including formulas, data manipulation, and pivot tables. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret insurance policies, coverages, documents, and regulations. Strong analytical skills, including calculating discounts, commissions, premiums, and percentages. Proficiency in problem solving and handling variable conditions. Bachelor's Degree highly preferred. Spanish or other language fluency is a plus.
