Your impact We are seeking an experienced Lead Data Engineer to play a key role in designing, building, and operating Snowflake based data platforms and data integration solutions at enterprise scale.The primary focus of this role is leading the modernization and development of data warehouses, with emphasis on integration between source systems and data consumers, ETL/ELT processes, and data pipelines. This is a hands-on technical leadership role with strong ownership of engineering standards, architecture, and delivery quality, rather than a pure management or research position.Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, and operate Snowflake based data platforms supporting analytics and reporting workloadsLead end to end migration of data infrastructure, including source integrations, ETL/ELT processes, orchestration, and downstream consumer connections, from legacy to modern platformsLead the design of highly decoupled, scalable architectures and reusable integration patternsBuild and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines (batch and real time) using modern cloud data technologiesIntegrate and manage large, complex datasets from multiple internal and external source systemsAutomate data pipelines end to end to reduce manual effort and improve stability and maintainabilityDesign and implement monitoring, alerting, and error handling frameworks for data pipelinesRun proof of concept initiatives and drive their evolution into full scale production rolloutsPlan and execute migration cutovers, including parallel runs, data reconciliation, and rollback strategiesDesign and optimize data architectures for performance, scalability, and cost efficiencyDefine and apply data governance practices, including data quality, lineage, compliance, and securityImplement and improve CI/CD, testing, data quality, and observability practices (DataOps)Collaborate closely with architects, product owners, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutionsMentor and guide Data Engineers, conduct code and design reviews, and contribute to team growthContribute to platform standards, best practices, and technical evolution across the organizationExperience in ensuring data quality and integrity throughout the migration process, including data validation and reconciliation between source and target systems Here's what you'll need 7+ years of experience in data engineering or platform engineering roles, including experience in a technical lead or senior positionProven, hands on experience leading end to end data infrastructure migrations (e.g. legacy data warehouse or ETL platform to a modern cloud platform), covering the full scope from source integration through cutover to production stabilizationHands on, production level experience with Snowflake, including data modeling, ELT patterns, and performance optimizationStrong programming skills in Python and advanced SQLExperience working with data and cloud workloads in MS Azure environmentSolid experience with data orchestration tools (Apache Airflow or equivalent) and ETL/ELT designExperience with streaming and event driven architectures (Kafka or equivalent)Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server and PostgreSQLProven experience designing decoupled, scalable data architectures and reusable integration patternsPractical understanding of data governance, including data quality, lineage, and data securityStrong analytical mindset, ownership attitude, and ability to design solutions for enterprise scaleExcellent communication skills and the ability to work with client architects and stakeholdersNice to have:Experience with Apache Spark, Databricks, and modern Lakehouse or hybrid architecturesFamiliarity with multi cloud or hybrid cloud architecturesExperience in consulting, product driven, or multi project environmentsExposure to large, enterprise scale data ecosystemsExperience in banking or financial servicesWe offer: Full-time employment/b2b contract with a salary that matches your qualificationsHybrid work model - enjoy the flexibility of working mainly from homeFlexible hours - start your day anytime between 7:30 and 10:00 AMComprehensive benefits, including Lux Med medical care, psychological support, life insurance, My Benefit cafeteria system, Multisport card co-financing, and a car/bike park sharing systemPossibility to travel on an occasional basisCo-financed holidays - enjoy "Wczasy pod Gruszą" for a well-deserved break (only under CoE)Global projects - engage in exciting international projects Inclusive networks - join our diverse employee networks like Women's Network, OneWorld, PRISM, Careers Network, Green Team, SpeakUp, Collectively, and moreContinuous learning - participate in our Graduate Development Program, Learners’ Community, and self-learning platformsLanguage courses - enhance your skills with courses in English, German, and PolishWe know that if we are inclusive, we’re more connected, and we’re more creative.
