Responsibilities Follow and reinforce company safety policies Serve as primary communicator with project owners and/or engineers Attend pre‑bid meetings with owners, vendors, and subcontractors Develop complete and accurate bid proposals, including quantity take‑off, crew composition, and material and subcontractor pricing Compare bid pricing to historical data Develop budgets and negotiate subcontractor agreements and purchase orders Outline and communicate specifications for superintendents and foremen Procure materials and major equipment Negotiate, secure, and manage subcontracts Maintain D/W/MBE goals and EEO utilization awareness Prepare and maintain project progress and budget Develop and maintain project schedule Perform a variety of field tasks, including lifting heavy objects, standing, stretching, walking, climbing, and bending under potentially adverse conditions; perform visual tasks such as backup spotting and react to backup alarms per safety protocol Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, and/or environmental engineering 5–10+ years of progressive experience in heavy civil construction or environmental project management Track record of estimating and managing heavy/highway or environmental construction projects from $50,000 to $20,000,000 Working knowledge of means and methods, crew composition, and production rates for heavy highway/bridge or environmental remediation Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and CPM scheduling software; ability to adapt to a variety of computer applications Cost accounting experience preferred Ability to work with a team to complete projects within stated deadlines Strong attention to detail Excellent written and oral communication skills Analytical and problem‑solving skills Must pass a pre‑employment drug screen Must have a valid driver’s license or reliable transportation to report to work on time Position requires travel Compensation Project Manager I: $102,000 – $132,000 Project Manager II: $126,000 – $162,000 Project Manager III: $144,000 – $192,000 Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, overtime when applicable, and other knowledge and skills.
