Location: South Bend, Indiana | Fully Onsite
Salary: $60,000-$70,000
Position Summary
We are seeking an entry-level Staff Accountant to join a growing accounting team in South Bend. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent accounting graduate or early-career professional looking to build a strong foundation in general accounting and gain hands-on experience across the full accounting cycle.


The ideal candidate understands the fundamentals of debits and credits , is comfortable working with journal entries and General Ledger activity, and brings strong attention to detail. Experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Dynamics 365 is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities

• Assist with General Ledger management , account reconciliations, and routine accounting activities.
  
  
• Prepare and post journal entries , ensuring transactions are accurately recorded and properly supported.
  
  
• Assist with month-end close , including account analysis, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  
  
• Utilize Microsoft Excel and Dynamics 365 to analyze financial information, maintain records, and support reporting.
  
  
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other accounting functions as needed.
  
  
• Research discrepancies and work with the accounting team to resolve issues accurately and efficiently.
  
  
• Maintain organized and accurate financial records while following established accounting policies and procedures.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  
  
• Strong understanding of debits, credits, and basic accounting principles .
  
  
• Ability to understand and prepare journal entries and work with General Ledger accounts.
  
  
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 strongly preferred.
  
  
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
  
  
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  
  
• Eagerness to learn and develop within a professional accounting environment.
