A growing Michigan-based law firm is seeking a Controller to own the financial discipline that supports continued growth and operational excellence. What You’ll Own

• Lead the monthly close process and deliver timely, accurate financial reporting
• Own cash flow management, forecasting, and financial planning
• Prepare and lead weekly financial review meetings with leadership
• Manage and develop the Billing and Collections team
• Drive financial analysis and operational reporting that supports strategic decision-making
• Build scalable financial systems, SOPs, and reporting processes
• Maintain trust accounting integrity and compliance standards
• Partner closely with executive leadership on growth strategy and financial operations

What We’re Looking For

• 7+ years of progressive accounting or finance leadership experience
• Previous Controller or senior accounting leadership experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA or CMA strongly preferred
• Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail
• Comfortable leading teams and developing talent
• Systems-oriented thinker who enjoys improving processes
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Experience in legal industry accounting and trust accounting is strongly preferred
• High level of professionalism and confidentiality
