Environmental Service Worker III- Part Time, Days

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is a 306-bed medical center located in Eastern Long Island. Position Summary Environmental Service Worker III – Part Time, Days (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday–Friday with alternating weekends; 18.75 hours per week). The role serves a diverse patient population, including those with special needs, across all life cycle stages. Job Responsibilities Prioritize work assignments. Communicate with ES Manager/Supervisor. Report progress of assigned duties to ES Manager/Supervisor, including completion status. Discuss day’s agenda and goals with ES Manager/Supervisor at shift start. Report any incomplete assignments at shift end. Dry and damp mop assigned areas. Operate floor buffing equipment and automatic scrubbing machine. Determine appropriate products to complete assignments on time. Ensure floors are free of debris. Keep corners and baseboards clean in assigned areas. Obtain equipment and supplies efficiently. Ensure all equipment is safe and in proper working condition. Know chemicals and their proper usage. Use equipment safely for moving heavy objects. Break down equipment at shift end and place in proper storage. Notify supervisor of equipment needing repair. Apply chemicals correctly for floor refinishing and use proper procedures for shower scrub, strip, and refinish floors. Consistently use wet floor signs while refinishing floors in a safe manner. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent to follow written work assignments and maintain records. Approximately one to three months experience to gain knowledge of cleaning procedures and power equipment use and maintenance. Continued education through seminars, workshops, departmental meetings, inservices, and attention to NYU memorandum. Good interpersonal skills demonstrated in interactions with staff, administrators, patients, and visitors.
