Evaluation Professional Nurse

As an Evaluation Professional Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care within a locked residential treatment facility serving individuals with chronic psychiatric conditions, including schizophrenia. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating care for a caseload of patients through comprehensive assessment, clinical judgment, medication administration, admissions, discharges, appointment scheduling, and ongoing treatment support. Working collaboratively with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, patients, and families, you will help ensure safe, effective, and recovery-focused care throughout the continuum of treatment. This position requires strong leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills as you uphold nursing standards, supervise care activities, and contribute to positive patient outcomes while demonstrating a commitment to the nursing profession and the behavioral health community.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver patient-centered care using the nursing process, critical thinking, effective communication, and comprehensive documentation to promote safety, quality, and positive outcomes.
• Educate and support patients, families, students, and staff while fostering learning, collaboration, and professional development.
• Demonstrate accountability for professional growth, shared governance participation, and continuous improvement in patient care and the practice environment.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives by applying evidence-based practice, identifying opportunities for enhancement, and promoting patient satisfaction.
• Build positive relationships with patients, families, and colleagues while supporting a safe, respectful, and culturally inclusive work environment.

Minimum six months experience. BSN preferred. Builds positive relationships with patients, families, providers, and staff while demonstrating strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: UPMC approved national certification preferred. Current Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC). Driver's License. Registered Nurse (RN). Act 34. OAPSA.

Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
