AssemblerThe Assembler builds, installs, and disassembles vehicle components to retrofit standard vehicles into ADA-compliant wheelchair-accessible vans. This role works along an assembly line in a shop environment, in and around vehicles, following blueprints, standard operating procedures, and detailed work instructions to ensure high-quality, safe, and precise assembly work.ResponsibilitiesBuild, assemble, and install vehicle parts and components along the assembly line to convert standard vehicles into ADA-compliant vans.Disassemble existing vehicle parts and components as needed to prepare for retrofitting and installation of mobility equipment.Work in and around vehicles on the shop floor, often in tight, confined spaces with 2–3 other team members.Follow blueprints, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and written work instructions to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.Use and identify hand tools and power tools correctly and safely during assembly and disassembly activities.Measure and mark materials accurately using tape measures and other basic measuring tools.Maintain a clean and organized work area along the assembly line to support safety and productivity.Stand and move around the shop throughout the entire workday to support continuous assembly operations.Collaborate with team members on the line to coordinate tasks and meet production schedules.Adhere to all safety guidelines and shop rules, including proper use of tools, equipment, and required attire.Essential SkillsManufacturing experience at any level, preferably in an assembly or production environment.Basic knowledge and practical experience using handheld tools and power tools.Ability to read, understand, and follow blueprints, SOPs, and detailed work instructions.Proficiency in tool usage and identification, including common shop and assembly tools.Ability to use a tape measure and perform accurate measurements.Capability to stand throughout the entire workday in a production environment.Comfort working in tight, confined spaces alongside 2–3 other individuals.Willingness and ability to work in a non-air-conditioned, swamp-cooled shop.Reliability to work the scheduled hours and be open to occasional overtime.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious experience in vehicle assembly, automotive work, or similar mechanical environments is a plus.Experience working on an assembly line or in a shop setting is beneficial.Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.Ability to follow safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.Strong teamwork and communication skills to work effectively with others in close quarters.Adaptability to changing tasks and production needs throughout the day.Why Work Here?Join a team that plays a direct role in enhancing mobility and independence for others by helping build wheelchair-accessible vans. Work takes place along an assembly line, in and around vehicles, often in tight, confined spaces shared with 2–3 other team members. The position requires standing for the entire workday and performing hands-on tasks using hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools such as tape measures. The standard schedule is Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with openness to occasional overtime on Fridays. The dress code includes long pants or work jeans, steel-toed shoes, and a plain T-shirt with no obscene logos or words, supporting both safety and professionalism on the shop floor.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Phoenix, AZ.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
