The Senior Customs Compliance Analyst supports the ongoing management and execution of David’s Bridal’s Import / Export Compliance Program and serves as a senior subject matter expert for customs and international trade compliance.

This individual is responsible for the day-to-day management and execution of assigned customs compliance programs and processes, including HTS classification, First Sale, duty payment, duty drawback, Antidumping and Countervailing Duties (AD/CVD), CTPAT, export compliance, audit support, and duty savings initiatives. The role applies extensive customs and international trade knowledge to ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) requirements, applicable international import and export laws and regulations governing cross-border movements, including transactions between non-U.S. countries, company policies, and established procedures.

The Senior Customs Compliance Analyst serves as a key customs and trade compliance resource to internal and external stakeholders, maintaining awareness of sourcing, tariff, regulatory, and trade developments and their potential impact on compliance, landed cost, and business operations. Reporting to the leader responsible for the Customs and Trade Compliance function, the role independently manages assigned responsibilities and escalates significant regulatory, financial, compliance, and strategic matters as appropriate.

Essential Functions

HTS Classification — 25%

• Manage HTS classification for apparel and other imported products in accordance with applicable CBP regulations and guidance.
• Research product specifications, WAD sheets, technical information, and other documentation to determine and support classifications.
• Establish and maintain applicable duty rates and classifications in company and external partner systems.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on HTS classification, duty implications, and customs best practices.
• Communicate classifications and duty impacts to Merchandising, Supply Chain, Logistics, brokers, and other stakeholders.

Customs, Export Compliance & AD/CVD — 25%

• Manage assigned customs compliance activities for import and export operations across applicable geographies, including Asia, Europe, the United States, the United Kingdom, Mexico, and Canada.
• Maintain knowledge of and support compliance with international import and export laws, regulations, customs requirements, and government agency requirements, including transactions between non-U.S. countries.
• Manage assigned First Sale, duty payment, duty drawback, AD/CVD, special trade programs, and other customs initiatives.
• Prepare and track export movements, including clearance, classification, documentation, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor transactions for compliance risks and coordinate corrective actions with internal and external partners.

CBP, Brokers, Government Systems & Audits — 20%

• Serve as a key day-to-day customs compliance contact for brokers, consultants, internal stakeholders, and other external partners.
• Coordinate routine compliance matters with CBP and other applicable government agencies and support responses to CF28s, CF29s, Requests for Information, Notices of Action, and other regulatory inquiries.
• Utilize government customs systems, including U.S. CBP ACE and Canada CBSA CARM, to support import and export compliance activities.
• Support Customs, First Sale, Duty Drawback, CTPAT, and other trade compliance audits and assessments.
• Support the management and execution of the company's CTPAT program and related supply chain security requirements.
• Maintain audit and compliance documentation and escalate significant regulatory or compliance matters to leadership.

Global Trade Compliance — 15%

• Execute established global trade compliance policies, procedures, and controls within assigned areas of responsibility.
• Create and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and compliance documentation.
• Monitor U.S. and international customs, export, tariff, trade agreement, and regulatory developments and assess potential impacts to company operations.
• Provide regulatory research, interpretation, and operational guidance within established policies and procedures.
• Support implementation of regulatory changes and identify opportunities to strengthen compliance processes and controls.

Duty Engineering & Strategic Trade Analysis — 15%

• Partner with Supply Chain, Merchandising, Sourcing, and other stakeholders to execute and maintain the Duty Engineering program.
• Analyze product composition, sourcing location, HTS classification, Country of Origin, trade programs, and other factors affecting duty liability and total landed cost.
• Evaluate how sourcing, manufacturing, product, tariff, and regulatory changes may affect duty rates, landed cost, and compliance requirements.
• Provide customs and trade compliance input into sourcing and supply chain decisions and identify potential duty savings opportunities.
• Identify and implement process improvements within assigned areas of responsibility.
• Prepare and maintain required permits, registrations, and renewals for CBP, Fish and Wildlife, and other applicable government agencies.

Qualifications – Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Trade, or a related field strongly preferred.

Licenses / Certifications / Training

U.S. Customs Broker License strongly preferred.

Years of Related Experience

8–10+ years of progressive experience in customs compliance, international trade, import/export, or a closely related field.

Required Skills & Abilities

• Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs and Border Protection regulations and import/export compliance requirements.
• Strong knowledge of international import and export laws, regulations, customs requirements, and trade compliance practices, including transactions involving non-U.S. countries and multiple international trade lanes.
• Subject matter expertise in HTS classification.
• Strong working knowledge of Country of Origin, Customs valuation, AD/CVD, First Sale, Duty Drawback, CTPAT, and other customs and trade compliance programs.
• Experience with U.S. CBP ACE and/or Canada CBSA CARM systems.
• Experience supporting or administering CTPAT requirements and supply chain security controls.
• Ability to independently manage complex customs compliance activities and programs.
• Strong analytical and research skills, including the ability to interpret regulations and apply requirements to business processes.
• Ability to evaluate the business impact of sourcing, tariff, regulatory, and trade changes, including implications for landed cost and compliance.
• Strong project, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build effective relationships with customs brokers, consultants, government agencies, and internal business partners.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and related business systems.
