Golf Course Mechanic

The Golf Course Mechanic is responsible for maintenance of all equipment used at our golf fields for trimming and cutting of grass, pruning of tree branches, blowing leaves, grass, and tree branches, spraying herbicides and fertilizers, drilling grass seeds, snowplowing, etc. The equipment used operates with different kinds of gasoline, diesel, and electric engines. The Golf Course Mechanic performs maintenance and repair of gasoline and diesel engines used in tractors (Ventrac compact tractors), Cushman golf cars, different combines, field sprayers, different lawn mowers, leaf vacuum cleaners, snow blower, grass seeder, Mega Buffalo Turbine for leaf blowing, Rayco Stump Cutter RG37 tractor for removing stumps and roots, and maintenance only for electric engines used in sharpening machines and presses for crimping and repairing. Key Responsibilities: - Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all turf equipment, including mowers, tractors, utility carts, and small engines. - Inspect and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and manuals. - Sharpen, balance, and adjust mower reels and rotary blades for precise cutting performance. - Maintain accurate service records for each piece of equipment. - Order and maintain inventory of parts, tools, and supplies. - Ensure equipment safety, including proper guards, adjustments, and operator readiness. - Maintain clean, organized, and safe workshop. - Assist in training staff on proper equipment operation and daily maintenance procedures. - Winterize or store equipment during off-season periods and prepare it for spring operations. - Stay updated with new technologies and best practices in turf equipment maintenance. Minimum Requirements: - Education: High school diploma or GED. - Experience: 24 months of experience as a mechanic in golf course or landscape, agricultural equipment mechanic, or related occupation. - License: Valid drivers license. Special skills and other requirements: - Strong understanding of gasoline, diesel, and electric engines, hydraulic systems, and cutting unit maintenance. - Ability to read and interpret service manuals and schematics. - Welding and fabrication skills. - Strong organizational and time-management abilities. - Experience in operating equipment/cars with manual transmission in order to operate the machinery and equipment for testing after repair. Travel is required within Grafton County and Sullivan County, New Hampshire. Wage: $57,512.00 per year.
