Network Security Administrator

Cyber Security Administrator - Contractor Objective The objective of this engagement is to provide specialized network and cyber Security administration support to ensure state agencies maintain secure, compliant, and modern network infrastructures. This role focuses on the mitigation of operational challenges, hardware lifecycles, and the execution of critical security requests. Scope of Services Administrative Daily Responsibilities: Review and execution of Firewall Service Requests (FSRs), break‑fix tickets, and formal change requests. Infrastructure Modernization: Facilitating the decommissioning and “refresh” of End‑of‑Life (EOL) hardware on a recurring basis. Compliance Maintenance: Implementing security controls and configurations to ensure agencies remain in alignment with IRS, FBI, and CJI compliance standards. Hardware Administration: Technical configuration and management of Cisco ASA and Palo Alto firewalls. Operational Requirements & Schedule Standard Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. On-Call Rotation: Participation in a weekly on-call rotation to address after‑hours incidents. After-Hours Maintenance: Availability for scheduled maintenance windows or emergency response situations outside of standard business hours. Background checks: Must be able to pass Criminal, financial backgrounds and drug test. Technical Qualifications Palo Alto Firewalls: Next‑generation firewall features such as zones, security policies, S2S VPN, Natting, and basic threat prevention. Cisco ASA Firewalls: Configuration, troubleshooting, and rule management. General Networking: foundational knowledge of routing protocols, subnetting, OSI model, ETC. Location Requirements Candidate must be local or willing to commute or relocate. First candidate preference will be for candidates in Colorado. Information Security Training Notice: If you are hired as vendor staff who will have access to state systems or data or as a contractor for one of the state executive branch consolidated agencies, in adherence to Colorado Revised Statute 24‑37.5‑401, 403, 404, 405, and 406, and Colorado Information Security Policy (CISP) 002, you will be required to self‑register and complete information security training, including but not limited to review and acknowledgement of the Acceptable Use of State Data and IT Resource Policy (AUP) (CISP‑018), through the consolidated agency contractor information security training site within 30 days of your contract start date and annually thereafter. Should you be awarded this contract, the state agency will provide the contractor information security training site information to you.
