Job Description

The Admissions Specialist is responsible for client admissions. The admissions coordinator

reports to the Admissions Director.

Qualifications:

•
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred in related field –

such as Social Work, Psychology, or Education – preferred.

•
Must have essential computer skills and ability to navigate and use the company EMR.

•
Must be able to pass drug, nicotine, and alcohol tests.

•
Strong phone communication skills, with the ability to engage compassionately and

professionally in sensitive, Christ-centered conversations while maintaining

confidentiality and clarity.

•
Hold/Receive required certifications within the predetermined time limits established by

the State of Arkansas and Adult & Teen Challenge of Arkansas.

•
Complete the specifically designed trainings and pass written examination required for

certification.

Communicate compassionately and effectively with clients, health care professionals, and

the general public.

Familiar with medical terminology as it relates to mental health care and basic family

practice care.

Effective documentation skills.

Able to lift up to 30 pounds.

•
Physically able to walk, stand, and stoop for several hours each day.

Responsibilities:

•
Oversees client applications and admissions checklist into the program.

•
Ensure that all client applications are thoroughly looked through and responds within 24

hours.

•
Conducts follow up phone interviews with client applicants and referral sources.

•
Upload all appropriate information about the client to the EMR upon arrival including all

necessary contact details.

•
Participates in Agency-wide training programs/in-services.

•
Familiar with the company’s policies, procedures and guidelines including all safety

protocols and rules for facility.

•
Ensures confidentiality of client and employee information and responds to internal and

external information according to company policy.

•
Assists in overcoming barriers to the admission of clients.
•
Makes necessary referrals and serves as liaison with other agencies.

•
Present new client intakes to interdisciplinary team.

•
Occasional meetings at ATCAR campus as needed.

•
Other duties as assigned.
