DescriptionWe are looking for an accomplished Chief Financial Officer to provide both executive-level direction and active day-to-day leadership for the finance function in Salinas, California. This position calls for a hands-on leader who can shape long-range financial strategy, strengthen operational performance, and support sound decision-making across a complex, mission-focused organization. The ideal candidate brings experience in healthcare, nonprofit, or similarly purpose-driven settings and is comfortable leading sizable budgets, developing teams, and maintaining financial stability during a period of immediate organizational need.Responsibilities:• Direct the full scope of financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, effective controls, and dependable support for organizational leadership.• Partner with executive stakeholders to develop financial plans, guide budgeting priorities, and align fiscal strategy with organizational goals.• Evaluate financial performance through analysis, forecasting, and scenario planning to identify risks, opportunities, and operational improvements.• Lead, mentor, and develop a finance team of approximately 10 direct reports, with close oversight of the Controller function.• Maintain strong day-to-day finance management while contributing to high-level executive decisions and long-term business planning.• Support the organization through urgent leadership needs by providing stability, accountability, and continuity across financial activities.• Oversee complex budgeting environments, including funding structures common to healthcare, nonprofit, or other mission-driven organizations.• Contribute to finance systems improvement efforts, including potential platform implementation or transition initiatives, and help optimize related processes.Posted by Recruiting Director Scott MooreRequirements• At least 7 years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience, including senior-level oversight responsibilities.• Demonstrated background in healthcare, nonprofit, or another mission-oriented organization with complex funding and reporting needs.• Experience managing finances for an organization with an annual budget of approximately $40 million or more.• Proven ability to balance strategic financial leadership with hands-on operational execution.• Prior success leading and developing finance teams, including supervision of multiple direct reports.• Strong financial analysis, planning, forecasting, and assessment capabilities.• Familiarity with accounting platforms such as Sage Intacct, Sage 300, or other multi-entity and nonprofit-focused financial systems is preferred.• Solid educational foundation in finance or accounting; advanced financial credentials are considered an advantage.Job typePerm
