Artificial Intelligence Engineer

Brooksource is seeking a Senior AI Solutions Engineer to lead the organization's AI and intelligent automation initiatives in Waukegan, IL. This highly visible, hybrid role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving business problems, working directly with stakeholders, and building impactful, production-ready AI solutions. You will partner with business teams to identify opportunities for AI-driven process improvement, design and deploy enterprise AI agents and workflow automation solutions, and act as a bridge between business and technical teams. This is not a research-focused AI role; success requires hands‑on development, business process analysis, and the ability to deliver measurable business value. You will help shape the company’s AI strategy, drive AI adoption, and scale AI capabilities across the organization, all within a flexible work environment with very low turnover. WHAT YOU'LL DO Meet directly with business stakeholders and end users to understand current workflows, identify inefficiencies, and uncover opportunities for AI and intelligent automation Gather functional and technical requirements through collaboration with end users Evaluate business processes and determine when AI, Power Automate, RPA, or traditional automation is the most appropriate solution Design, develop, and deploy enterprise AI agents and workflow automation solutions into production environments Build AI solutions using Microsoft Copilot Studio, Microsoft Foundry, and other Microsoft AI technologies Develop automation solutions using Power Automate and RPA tools Act as the bridge between business teams and technical teams, translating operational challenges into scalable AI and automation solutions Support, monitor, and optimize AI and automation solutions after deployment Collaborate with technical and business teams to drive enterprise AI adoption Document technical solutions, implementation approaches, and best practices Contribute to the company's long-term AI strategy and AI enablement roadmap WHAT YOU BRING Professional software engineering or software development background Experience designing, building, and deploying AI solutions into production environments Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio, Microsoft Foundry, or similar Microsoft AI technologies Experience developing workflow automation solutions using Power Automate and/or RPA technologies Experience working directly with business stakeholders and gathering requirements Strong understanding of enterprise application development, software architecture, and software development best practices Excellent communication, consulting, and problem-solving skills Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience Experience with prompt engineering and AI evaluation frameworks (preferred) Microsoft AI certifications (preferred) Experience implementing enterprise AI initiatives and intelligent automation programs (preferred) Experience helping organizations determine where AI versus traditional automation provides the greatest business value (preferred) WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU Opportunity to help shape and influence the company's AI strategy Highly visible role with direct impact across the business Blend of hands‑on development and business partnership responsibilities Flexible work environment with very low turnover Opportunity to build enterprise AI solutions from concept through production deployment Ability to help establish and scale AI capabilities across the organization #J-18808-Ljbffr
