Patient Access Representative (Relief - Evenings)

The schedule is ER every other weekend 3-11 PM and every other holiday 3-11PM. Cross Trained in Outpatient Registration.

Job Duties

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson
• Gathers accurate demographic and insurance information.
• Requests and scans photo ID and insurance cards.
• Verifies insurance coverage, referrals, and authorizations.
• Collects patient out-of-pocket liability at time of service.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• Emergency Department: Minimum 3 years experience in hospital, physician practice, or other related healthcare environment customer service. Prior registration experience in Emergency Dept preferred. Current Jefferson Seamless Access Representatives with a minimum of 1 year of experience will be considered as meeting the experience requirement.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Healthcare or Business Administration

Additional Qualifications

Physical Demands Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
