Registered Respiratory Therapist

Overview We are seeking a Registered RespiratoryTherapist, internallyreferred to as ourRRT.TheRRTcan be referred to as aRespiratory Care Practitioner(RCP II)butsomeone whocarries out respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as directed by the medical and cardiopulmonary directors, based on physician orders. They focus on assessing, planning, implementing, and documenting care while considering the specific needs of patients based on age and population; in the absence of a supervisor, they may bedesignatedas the Lead RCP, overseeing the department during their shift. ShiftsAvailable: Days Employment Type: Full-time Hours: 12-hour shifts – 0600-1830 Location: St Joseph Medical Center – Kansas City, MO Here are some of the benefits of working at Prime Healthcare: Health, dental, and vision insurance options Paid vacation, sicktimeand holidays Bereavement leave, FMLA and other leave options Employer 401K options Tuition reimbursement options Life, disability, and other insurance options Many other amazing benefits Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): Willprovide treatments such as inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications to help patients breathe more easily Conduct tests like pulmonary function testsandarterial blood gas analysis to assess lung capacity and gas exchange in patients Set up,monitor, and adjust ventilators and other life-supporting equipment for patients who cannot breathe independently May bepartofarapid response team in emergencies,which you willprovideairway management, perform intubations, and resuscitatepatients in critical situations Assess patients' respiratory status,monitortheir progress, andmake adjustments totreatment plans as needed Ensure that all respiratory equipment isproperly cleaned, sterilized, andmaintainedto prevent infections and ensure patient safety Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
2. Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
3. Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current.
4. Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification upon hire and maintain current.
5. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification upon hire and maintain current or obtained within 60 days of hire.
6. Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate is preferred.
7. Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
8. Two (2) years of acute care experience is preferred.
