SUMMARY

This position performs a variety of general personnel clerical tasks in such areas as employee records, benefits, education, training, employment/staffing, compensation, employee labor relations, and equal employment opportunity/affirmative action. The Personnel Assistant may conduct surveys and update manual and automated personnel records.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

No supervisory responsibilities. Exercise discretion at all times and use limited judgment when necessary. Operate general office equipment such as typewriter, personal computer, copier, adding machine, and facsimile. Perform clerical and secretarial duties related to human resource tasks, including compensation, benefits, staffing/employment, EEO procedures, and policy administration. Update and maintain personnel records manually and electronically.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be a U.S. citizen and clearable to obtain a Federal clearance. Must possess a valid U.S. state driver's license. Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent; preferred minimum 2 years of administrative military personnel experience. Initiated National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) and favorable FBI fingerprint check or eDoD-determined equivalent investigation. Operational knowledge and/or experience processing ID issuance requests, issuing building and system access badges, DoD CAC Card issuance policies and procedures, and certificates of completion for DEERS/RAPIDS training. English language proficiency: speak, read, write, and understand English; ability to read and explain instructions, letters, memos, emails, and correspondence; effective communication and presentation to clients and colleagues. Reasoning ability: organize work, set priorities, solve problems, analyze situations, and formulate action plans.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
