Coaching Assistant Boys' Soccer Blue Springs South High School - Blue Springs, Missouri Job ID: 5681192 Application Deadline: Posted until filled Posted: Apr 30, 2026 5:00 AM (UTC) Starting Date: To Be Determined Job Description Assistant Boys’ Soccer Coach Blue Springs School District, 2026-2027 Position Summary: To help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem. Assist the soccer program at Blue Springs High School. Reports to the Activities Director and Head Boys’ Soccer Coach. Salary commensurate with experience; salary range $5,046 – $5,550. Essential Functions Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the rules and fundamentals of soccer. Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement. Plan and schedule a regular program of practice in season. Oversee safety conditions of the facility at all times students are present. Maintain accurate statistics, records, and results of the season. Enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior and establish penalties for breaches. Maintain competency in rules, rule interpretations, meet procedures, coaching techniques, and general information about all aspects of the sport. Establish performance criteria for eligibility in interscholastic competition. Apply a highly efficient and technically sound injury prevention program. Work closely with Athletics Director on scheduling interscholastic contests. Recommend purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms. Maintain necessary attendance forms, insurance records, and similar paperwork. Account for all equipment or delegate the responsibility. Provide emergency first aid. Develop consistent and positive public communications with parents and the general public via school and media. Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities Supervises students in the program. Physical Demands Frequently required to stand, talk or hear, walk and sit. May occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs. Responsibilities include safety and well-being of others. Work Environment Noise level usually moderate to loud. Background Check Employment contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check. Experience Previous experience in coaching soccer preferred. Education Educator certification preferred. Must hold a valid Missouri teaching certificate or be eligible for a substitute teaching certificate (minimum 60 college credit hours).
