TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in Parkersburg, West Virginia, 26101!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of critical care experience required License: Valid RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS are required Must-Have: Must have at least 1 year of critical care experience. Prior travel experience preferred. Must be competent with CRRT, IABP, Vents, post-code/therapeutic hypothermia. Skilled with all vasoactive medications, sedation, and paralytics. Description: The unit consists of 18 private rooms with negative pressure capability for COVID patients. Staff-to-patient ratios are typically 1:2. CRRT/Organ Donation cases may involve a 1:1 ratio. In overflow situations, ratios may stretch to 1:3. The average daily census is 13 patients. Common diagnoses include sepsis, pneumonia, COVID, CHF, COPD, DKA, overdose, renal failure, neurosurgeries, and vascular patients. Registered Nurses are required to titrate all critical care medications within ordered parameters. ICU RNs also perform care and removal of central lines. Intensivists provide daily in-house coverage from 7 AM to 7 PM. Dedicated respiratory therapy staff are present 24/7. Registered Nurses are responsible for monitoring and interpreting telemetry. Self-scheduling and block scheduling are permitted, based on unit needs. Weekend shifts are required every other week. There is a rare floating requirement to stepdown and med-surg units as needed. Scrub color is royal blue, with specific dress code guidelines. General education competencies must be completed before the start of the assignment. A pharmacist is on the unit during daytime hours. Travelers may be required to work weekends based on unit staffing needs.
