# Job Opportunity – Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse – Texas

Start Date: November 16, 2026

Location: Decatur, Texas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Day or Night shifts available; weekend shifts required; no on-call. Patient ratios of 5:1 or 6:1 depending on unit assignment.

Highlights:

• Work on a 60-bed Medical/Surgical unit with a collaborative team of RNs, LVNs, PCTs, and support staff
• Diverse case mix including abdominal procedures (cholecystectomy, appendectomy, colectomy), orthopedic surgeries (total hip/knee/shoulder replacements, fracture repairs), bariatric procedures, diagnostic procedures, and cardiac interventions (heart caths, run-offs)
• Modern equipment including remote telemetry, capnography, Alaris IV pumps, and Alterra (Allscripts) EMR system
• Supportive staffing structure with dedicated charge nurses per floor on both day and night shifts
• Mandatory float opportunities to Inpatient Rehab, Emergency Department, and Progressive Care Unit as needed (assignments remain within scope of practice)
• Professional development-focused environment with team-oriented culture

Requirements:

• Active Texas RN license
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Medical/Surgical nursing experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Cardiac rhythm recognition and IV insertion skills preferred
• Strong time management and organizational skills
