Job Duties:Associate, Loan Management & Due DiligencewithGoldman Sachs & Co. LLC inDallas, Texas. Support the trading desk through all stages of potentialnon-performing, re-performing, and new origination/forward flow bids (NPL/RPL/New Origination), including evaluating pool and bid data, normalizing and loading loan-level data into internal databases, analyzing and stratifying pools, determining appropriate modeling assumptions, running analytics, and producing bid packets and investment committee memoranda.Monitormonth-over-month portfolio changesand identify the key drivers behind them across all residential mortgage whole-loan and warehouse positions in collaboration with the trading desk on themonthly markingof these positions.Producedetailed monthly reportson Profit and Loss (P&L), returns, cash flows, and collateral performance across multiple loan portfolios.Deliver qualitative and quantitative analysison the key drivers of portfolio performance and recommend actionable strategies to asset managers and the trading desk.Collaborate withtransaction managers and due-diligence teamsto ensure all post-bid activity data related to the final settlement of awarded bids are accurately reflected in internal systems.Work closely withinternal teams, including Data Management, Operations, Technology, Controllers, Risk, and Modeling, to ensure data quality, accurate cash processing, and validated modeling assumptions. Engage withexternal portfolio servicers and managersto understand their business plans, track actual performance against projections, and develop a nuanced understanding of collateral characteristics across geographies.Conductperiodic model back-testingon the existing portfolio and recommend modeling-assumption adjustments to the trading desk. Job Requirements:Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) inQuantitative Finance, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or related fieldand one (1) year of experience in job offered or a related role OR Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) inQuantitative Finance, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or related fieldand three (3) years of experience in job offered or a related role. Prior employment must include one (1) year of experience (with a Master’s) OR three (3) years of experience (with a Bachelor’s) with: executing mortgage cashflow models and explaining drivers of different mortgage valuations and providing feedback to modeling team to enhance the accuracy and predictability of the model; building and maintaining cash flow, prepayment, default, and loss-severity models for residential mortgage whole-loan portfolios, including periodic back-testing of model outputs against actual collateral performance and recommending assumption adjustment; monitoring interest rate risk exposure to the mortgage portfolio and allocating hedge P&L on loan level, based on different loan characteristics; reconciling post-bid settlement data by collaborating with transaction managers, due-diligence teams, and internal systems, including trade capture, loan accounting, and data management platforms, to ensure accuracy; working with Structured Query Language (SQL) to access and analyze large amounts of data; programming languages, including Python or R, to automate different processes and create reports; and communicating portfolio analysis results and strategic recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders through presentations and reports.
