Overview

Climate Systems is seeking a motivated and skilled Service Turnkey Technician to support retrofit, replacement, and installation projects for commercial HVAC systems and equipment. This role works directly under the Service Turnkey Team Lead and is responsible for executing turnkey project work safely, professionally, and efficiently while maintaining Climate Systems’ quality and customer service standards.

The ideal candidate is a dependable field technician with strong mechanical aptitude, installation experience, and the ability to work independently while supporting overall project success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Independently install, replace, and modify HVAC systems and components in service turnkey projects.
• Perform system removals, equipment setting, piping, ductwork modifications, wiring, and startup assistance.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, building plans, specifications, and equipment submittals.
• Troubleshoot installation and operational issues and restore systems to proper operation.
• Assist with system startups, functional testing, and commissioning.
• Complete job-specific documentation including startup forms, warranty paperwork, and daily job notes.
• Execute assigned portions of projects from start to finish while adhering to scope, schedule, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with warehouse staff to stage equipment and materials accurately for assigned jobs.
• Verify delivered equipment matches submittals and is free of damage.
• Communicate job progress, issues, and scope concerns proactively.
• Assist with punch list completion and closeout activities.
• Provide on-the-job training and guidance to Service Turnkey Helpers.
• Reinforce company installation standards, safety requirements, and best practices in the field.
• Serve as a technical resource for helpers during installations and minor troubleshooting.
• Demonstrate professionalism and strong customer-facing communication on job sites.
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and job site requirements.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and job sites in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
• Help identify installation improvements and support continuous improvement of mechanical standards.
• Other such duties as assigned from time to time.

Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum of 4+ years of HVAC installation, retrofit, or commercial service experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, components, and installation practices.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and equipment submittals.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, gauges, meters, and installation equipment safely.
• EPA Certification preferred.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the Turnkey Team Lead and project teams.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and positive communication with customers and coworkers.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.
