The Support Specialist of District Investigations Unit performs a variety of clerical duties and supports the District Investigations Sergeants and their staff. Obtain Dispatch 911/Radio Audio, body cam items, CAD reports, and NCIC/CCIC information for detectives Process, update, and close detective unit cases, including case management/workflow queue actives and quarterly Case Clearance Report reviews Prepare and transcribe case‑related information in Versadex and perform daily MNI verification activities Create and prepare discovery and case‑related documents, including witness lists, DA information sheets, and materials for meetings or trials Provide administrative support to unit personnel, including scheduling meetings, coordinating unit needs, sharing information with rotating personnel, and assisting with case updates Respond to requests for information from citizens, law enforcement agencies, and outside agencies Support detectives with equipment, program, IT, facilities, print shop, and other operational requests Monitor inventory and supplies and assist with boiling‑related tasks as needed Monitor vehicle and pedestrian entrance gates and greet vendors and visitors Perform other related duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications & Working Conditions An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered. Education High school diploma or GED Experience 2 years of related clerical experience Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a judicial or law enforcement environment Knowledge Manual and computer filing systems Skill Skill in data entry Strong interpersonal and organizational skills Proficiency in computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, report generation and maintenance of databases Abilities Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and citizens Communicate effectively verbally and in writing Maintain confidentiality and handle stressful situations with tact and diplomacy Work well under pressure and meet deadlines with little supervision Understand, interpret, and apply department or division policy and procedures Licenses And Certifications Required CCIC/NCIC Clearance Notary Certificate or ability to obtain within six months Essential Personnel When a local announcement of emergency or disaster is declared by the city, all City of Aurora employees may be required to work as essential personnel.
