About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Evening/Night Variable Shifts, Majority Nights Hours per Shift: 48 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years, including 1 year in a trauma center License: Active RN License Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC Must-Have: - Epic experience is required. - Previous experience in an emergency room setting. - Comfort in providing culturally competent care to a diverse patient population. Description: Candidates will not be accepted if they have license hits related to diverting medications or endangerment. The facility has a total of 55 beds, with 8-12 swing beds and 4 trauma bays. There is an accelerated care fast track for patients with lower acuity. Travelers may be asked to perform triage after completing an additional orientation and competency testing. RNs manage their own patient holds if they extend beyond a typical duration. Separate rooms for psychiatric care are available, monitored 24/7 by dedicated staff. In-house security personnel are present throughout the emergency department. The average patient volume per day is approximately 250. The nurse-to-patient ratios are 4:1 for the main emergency department and 5:1 for the accelerated care area. Common patient diagnoses include STEMI, Stroke, DKA, Sepsis, Trauma, Respiratory Diseases, and Behavioral Health. COVID-19 measures are in place, with staff trained in appropriate protocols. Transportation of critical patients is required within the department. Both nursing assistants and RNs are involved in patient care. The facility has a strong commitment to community care.
