Job Summary

The Director of Marketing leads Black Desert Resort's marketing, communications, public relations, and brand strategy. Reporting to the Vice President of Sales & Marketing, this role oversees the annual marketing plan, budget, digital marketing, creative content, agency partnerships, and marketing analytics. Working closely with Sales, Revenue Management, and Operations, the Director drives demand, strengthens brand positioning, maximizes marketing ROI, and supports revenue growth across all resort operations while maintaining the resort's ultra-premium brand standards.

Onsite: Black Desert Resort

Shift & Schedule Availability: Year-Round / Full-Time

Pay Range: $140,000 - $155,000/year plus manager incentive program. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities including but not limited to:

• Develop and execute the resort's annual marketing, communications, and public relations strategy, budget, and integrated marketing calendar.
• Partner with Sales, Revenue Management, and resort leadership to drive demand, increase revenue, strengthen brand positioning, and maximize marketing ROI.
• Lead marketing initiatives across Rooms, Golf, Food & Beverage, Spa & Wellness, Recreation, Weddings, Membership, Group Sales, People Services and resort programming.
• Oversee all digital marketing channels, including website, SEO/SEM, CRM, email, social media, paid advertising, and OTA media, to increase engagement, conversion, and direct bookings.
• Maintain brand consistency across all marketing materials, guest communications, advertising, photography, video, and creative content.
• Direct public relations, media relations, strategic partnerships, community engagement, and reputation management.
• Manage external agencies, creative partners, vendors, and media investments, ensuring quality, accountability, and measurable results.
• Oversee marketing budgets, forecasts, campaign performance, and analytics, adjusting strategies and investments to optimize results.
• Monitor market trends, competitive positioning, and guest behavior to identify growth opportunities and leverage emerging marketing technologies.
• Lead, coach, and develop the Marketing team while fostering collaboration and accountability across resort departments.
• Partner with People Services to support employer branding and recruitment marketing initiatives.
• Present marketing strategies, performance results, and recommendations to executive leadership and ownership while upholding Black Desert Resort's ultra-premium brand standards.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• At least 5 to 7 years (preferably more) of luxury resort/hotel marketing experience.
• A college graduate with a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field, or the same in experience.
• A brand ambassador for luxury lifestyle who lives and breathes extravagance. A dynamic, enthusiastic, and creative leader who thrives under pressure and is able to perform multiple functions and troubleshoot when needed.
• Experience managing and leading a team of at least 4 or more marketing professionals.
• Proficient in general computer knowledge including social media platforms.
• A strong leader with desire to satisfy the needs of others with a proven track record in a similar position.
• A true entrepreneur that thrives in fast paced environments.
• Organized, personable, and have strong verbal and written communication skills.
