The Payments and Wallet team owns how money moves on Roblox starting with how players pay in, ending with how developers get paid out, and the wallet infrastructure that connects the two. Consumer facing payments are also the high impact area for driving revenue growth for the company. As Director of Product for Payments and Wallet, you will own this business end to end: setting the long-term strategy, standing up new banking and wallet products from zero users to all developers, and running the P&L for a meaningful revenue line at Roblox. You will lead a team of product managers and partner closely with Engineering, Finance, Legal, Risk, and Business Development to build payment and wallet products that work at global scale. This is a builder's role for someone who has taken a financial product from an idea to a business and wants to do it again on one of the largest user-generated platforms in the world.

This role is based in San Mateo, CA (hybrid with Tues-Thurs in office) and reports to the Sr. Director Product, Monetization and Payments.

You will:

• Own the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap for Payments and Wallet, spanning consumer payment methods, developer and creator payouts, and the underlying wallet platform. This role also encompasses risk management and payment operations leadership.
• Launch new banking and wallet products from 0 to 1, and scale it into a durable revenue stream.
• Own the P&L for the Payments and Wallet business, including revenue and margin targets, cost of payments, and the investment tradeoffs required to hit them.
• Build, lead, and grow a team of product managers, setting a high bar for product craft, execution, and career development.
• Ensure operational excellence for risk ops and payment ops
• Partner with Finance, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Business Development to expand payment coverage internationally and to launch products that meet regulatory and licensing requirements in each market.
• Establish the strategy for payments risk and fraud management, balancing authorization rates and user experience against loss, chargeback, and compliance exposure.
• Represent the Payments and Wallet business to Roblox executive leadership and to external partners including processors, banking partners, and payment networks.

You have:

• 10+ years of product management experience, including 3+ years leading and growing product teams.
• A track record of launching a banking, wallet, or financial product from 0 to 1 and growing it into a meaningful business.
• Direct P&L ownership, with demonstrated results driving revenue and managing cost structure for a product line.
• Experience building and scaling global payments products, including working with processors, banking partners, alternative payment methods, and cross-border money movement.
• Risk management and fraud expertise, including chargebacks, authorization optimization, KYC/AML, and regulatory compliance in financial products.
• A technical approach: comfort going deep on platform and implementation details, and the ability to partner with engineering on scalable, extensible architecture.
• A data-driven approach: proficiency identifying, defining, tracking, and acting on the metrics that move a financial business, plus familiarity with experimentation and A/B testing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills: the ability to convey strategy, priorities, and tradeoffs to an executive audience, and to produce clear, detailed product specifications for the team.
• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a technical, business, or related field.

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits as described on this page .

Annual Salary Range

$383,120—$439,280 USD

Roles that are based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
