Event Attendant

Under the close supervision of the Event Venue Sales Manager, thisposition is responsible for ensuring smooth entry and exit into theHudson Holidays event . You will be responsible for welcoming guests,scanning tickets, providing information about the event and assistingwith crowd management. This seasonal position requires exceptionalcustomer service skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced,outdoor environment from November 28-January 4th on select days.Shifts would be from 4:00-9:00 PM.

• Provides superior customer service and strives to create apositive experience to promote on-going and repeat business. Greetpatrons as they enter the facility and process transactions.
• Respond to public inquiries in a calm, friendly and courteousmanner; provide information within the area of assignment; resolvecomplaints in an efficient and timely manner.
• Ensure that facility rules and safety standards are followed andassists in emergency situations such as evacuations, medicalemergencies, suspicious behavior or activity, etc.
• Attend a one-time training to learn the scanning process.
• Attend work on a regular, reliable and punctual basis
• Use ticket scanners (hand-held devices to validate ticketadmission) at venue entrance.
• Admit guests into the show who present a valid ticket, and denyaccess or redirect those who do not.
• Knowledge of the light show’s layout and attractions.
• Maintain orderly lines

Education and/or Experience:

• Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of handheld technology, such as smartphones and ticket readers.
• Must have the ability to perform multiple functions at once andthe ability to handle the public in a friendly and professional manner.
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively verbally;establish and maintain working relationships with employees and the public.

Material and Equipment Used:

This position regularly uses handheld technology, such as smartphonesand ticket readers.

The work is performed outdoors in the evening. Outdoor workingenvironments can be wet, windy, snowy, and extreme in temperaturevariations, and loud background noises. This position is subject tocontinuous interruptions, background noises, flashing lights, and anarray of distractions, i. e. music.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods. Upper bodystrength is a requisite to lift/move up to 25 lbs. unassisted. Visionrequirements include: near acuity, far acuity, and depth perception.Must exhibit manual dexterity to manipulate smartphones and ticketreaders. The ability to talk and hear through face-to-facecommunication is needed.
