Union Bidding Process This position follows a union bidding process. Job Summary Windstream Holdings, Inc. is a leading provider of advanced network communications and technology solutions across the United States. As a Windstream technician working on the buried drop team, you will perform the physical installation of buried copper, fiber and coaxial cable from the network hub to the customers’ residences. Responsibilities Perform the physical installation of buried copper, fiber & coaxial drop cable to connect Windstream’s network to customers’ residences. Interpret work drawings and complete required paperwork. Operate hand‑held computers to retrieve and clear job tasks. Operate trenching and boring equipment for burying cable. Train new employees on daily job functions. Sell and promote Windstream products and services to customers. Qualifications Ability to walk ½ mile or more while operating drop plow. Physical strength: lift and carry up to 70 pounds. Ability to work a schedule that includes overtime, call‑outs, and standby as needed. Basic technology and math skills. Ability to distinguish colors in color‑coded cable. A valid driver’s license and safe driving record. Ability to pass pre‑employment DOT physical. Physical Demands Standing continuously – 67‑100% of the time. Walking continuously – 67‑100% of the time. Climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and lifting up to 70 pounds required throughout the shift. Ability to handle repetitive hand actions and operate equipment that requires foot control.
