The successful candidate will provide exceptional care to adult patients who require monitoring and treatment following traumatic injuries, often necessitating surgical interventions. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a progressive care setting. Monitor patients’ vital signs and telemetry readings, ensuring timely intervention as needed. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and document patient progress accurately. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Educate patients and families about their health conditions and care plans. Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and their families. Unit Features A 41-bed progressive care trauma/tele unit focused on adult surgical trauma patients. Nurse-to-patient ratio typically 1:4, flexing to 1:5 based on patient needs. Telemetry monitoring capabilities for up to 14 patients. Patients commonly include individuals with injuries from gunshot wounds, motor vehicle accidents, assaults, and falls. Requirements Current AHA ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certifications required. Completion of a medication test is a prerequisite. Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required for first-time travelers. Willingness to work 36 hours per week, including 6 weekend shifts every 6-week schedule. Interdisciplinary Support The unit is supported by various interdisciplinary teams, including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, and Unit Secretary services.
