Travel Clinical Laboratory Scientist

Travel Clinical Laboratory Scientist for a 13-week, full-time contract in the California side of the Reno-Tahoe region. The role involves performing complex laboratory testing and supporting patient care teams, with compensation up to $3,060 per week based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform complex laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures and regulatory standards.
2. Analyze, verify, and report laboratory test results accurately and efficiently.
3. Operate, troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instrumentation, including Siemens Dimension EXL analyzers.
4. Utilize Cerner CommunityWorks for laboratory documentation, patient records, and result reporting.
5. Conduct quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure testing accuracy.
6. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare staff to support patient care initiatives.
7. Follow CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and facility-specific laboratory standards and protocols.
8. Participate in proficiency testing and performance improvement initiatives.
9. Maintain detailed records of laboratory procedures, testing results, and equipment maintenance.
10. Ensure compliance with all infection control and laboratory safety guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) License
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Clinical Laboratory Scientist experience
• Experience with Cerner CommunityWorks
• Experience operating Siemens Dimension EXL analyzers
• Strong knowledge of laboratory quality assurance and quality control procedures
• Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field

Preferred Skills:

• ASCP Certification (MLS/MT) preferred
• Current BLS Certification preferred
