Mental Health Juvenile Justice Liaison

Provide direct case management and linkage services for mental health and substance abuse counseling to youth and their families. Build and solidify collaborative relationships with regional office of education, schools, and juvenile courts. Track referrals, data including outcomes as described and required to DHS/DMH. Provide direct services in mental health programs, which include, Youth Education (YEC) and Parent Education (PEC) curricula, mental health support groups, mental health and anger evaluations, emergency preparedness and other special programs and projects. Promote public education and awareness by taking part in presentations before community groups emphasizing mental health programs as directed by Behavioral Health & Psychiatric Services Director. Schedule: Position requires 2 evenings a week (11:00 am – 7:00 pm) Tuesday through Thursday. Mondays & Fridays are 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. Salary -$54,000 per year Approximately 14.5 Paid Holidays per year. Paid Vacation Time – accrued each month, available for use immediately, increases incrementally with years of service. Paid Sick Time – 6 hours accrued each month, available for use immediately, unlimited carryover each year. Paid Personal Time – 40 hours annually, complies with Illinois Paid Leave Act. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish preferred. MHJJ Liaison Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements: Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or human services-related field is required. LSW or LPC preferred. Experience with case management, linkage and referral, crisis stabilization, and outreach preferred.
