Resident Assistant

Candidates must be interested and willing to enroll in CNA classes. For the first two to four weeks, the Resident Assistant will be assigned to work on the patients' halls. Responsibilities include various tasks related to patient care but with no patient contact prior to completed training. Examples of the tasks assigned during this period are: - Answering patient call signals, signal lights, bells, or intercom systems to determine patients' needs - Changing beds - Various cleaning assignments. - Assistance transporting patients to and from various activities while in wheelchairs Following the initial two to four weeks on the patients' halls, the Resident Assistant will attend a 13-day class in preparation for the CNA certification test administered by the State. After the test is successfully completed, the newly certified CNA will receive new assignments in patient care. Should a Resident Assistant not pass the CNA certification exam, he or she may choose to re-take the test with some of the cost being handled by the candidate. All candidates must be a minimum of 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Background screens will be conducted.
