Chemical Production Operator Manufacturing

Work Schedule Must be able to work a 12‑hour rotating shift in an open‑air environment. Typical shift hours: 7:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. – 8:00 a.m. Position Summary The chemical production operator is responsible for all aspects of personal safety, product quality, and production efficiency in the manufacturing of finished goods. Duties include operating reactors and filling, loading, and unloading auxiliary equipment. Essential Functions Operate production equipment and monitor process conditions, key performance metrics, equipment and control systems to maintain desired rates and conditions. Carry out batch manufacturing, including weighing and charging raw materials to vessels and tanks, transferring products from vessels to storage tanks and other containers. Follow company policies, principles, procedures, standards, and practices to ensure safe and reliable operation. Read, record, and interpret data from instruments, reactors, pumps, etc., adjusting as required for efficient and safe operations. Understand key process variables that impact product quality and consistency, and control and troubleshoot them. Maintain good housekeeping and clean work areas, assisting in general cleanup. Support Ortec's zero‑incident safety goal and participate in EHS programs. Mentor and train new and existing personnel on process operations. Safely operate forklift, lifts, and hand trucks. Perform related duties as assigned. Education High School Graduate or GED. Skills & Abilities Basic computer and math knowledge.
