Travel Nurse RN - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care - $2,222 per week in Columbus, OH

Position Summary Registered Nurse (RN) – Intensive Care Unit / Critical Care Location: Columbus, OH Agency: Prime Staffing Pay: $2,222 per week Shift: Nights – 3 days x 12 hours (19:00 – 07:30) Contract duration: 13 weeks Start date: 8/24/2026 Responsibilities and Duties Provide hands‑on ICU nursing care for adult, geriatric, trauma, transplant, burn, and general surgical patients. Manage arterial line, central line, PICC line, and Swan‑Ganz catheter monitoring. Assist with chest tube insertion/removal and BiPAP/CPAP management. Administer blood products, continuous IV sedation, IV insulin protocols, and manage dysrhythmias. Perform high‑flow nasal cannula therapy, CRRT, and other advanced hemodynamic support. Manage ventilated patients, support post‑neurosurgery care, and conduct burn dressing changes. Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and communication using SBAR. Float to other units within the Ohio State University organization as required. Perform call coverage for weekends and urgent notifications. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience; experience in Surgical, Trauma, Burn, or Transplant ICU preferred. Valid Ohio RN license and OH compact license if applicable. Current BLS and ACLS certifications; NIHSS certification required. Proficiency with Epic charting system, Pyxis/Accudose/Omnicell medication dispensing systems. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of arterial blood gas interpretation, dysrhythmia management, and infection prevention protocols. Strong communication skills and ability to work in a high‑acuity, interdisciplinary environment. Travel & Compliance Travel required; first‑time travelers accepted. Travelers must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly upon signing the contract. Travel meets Tier 4 compliance with strict Tuesday deadline before start date. Travelers located beyond driving distance may receive a mailing fingerprint packet. Equipment & Environment Advanced monitoring equipment: invasive arterial lines, pulmonary artery lines, NxtStage CRRT, EVD monitoring, ICP monitoring, FloTrac. Ventilators and associated respiratory support devices. Pediatric ICU, trauma center, burn center, and specialized surgical equipment within the unit. Additional Information Documentation system: Epic. Medication dispensing: Pyxis, Accudose, Omnicell. Communication method: SBAR. Vaccination: COVID‑19 vaccine not required; influenza vaccine required (medical exemptions accepted). Parking options: WMC Agency Permit, WB Permit, CXS Permit (final rates vary). Reference policy: Two professional references, at least one from a direct manager or supervisor; no employee references.
