Hydraulics Technician

Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensures that all work is performed in accordance with approved technical data, to customer supplications and regulatory requirements.
• Use appropriate inspection techniques, and calibrated equipment for the unit/part bring accomplished.
• Utilizes the proper test equipment or suitable alternative and performs preventative as needed.
• Records information and accomplishes the work assignment in compliance with the Inspection Procedures Manual and Quality Policies and Procedures.
• Comply with all safety recommendations and requirements.
• Engage in generating and implementing ideas and processes to help the continuous improvement so that department goals are met and exceeded.
• The technician is required to complete a supervised training program as well as read and understand any pertinent training or department procedural manuals.
• Perform work assignments as determined by the shop management.
• Assist Department Manager and Engineers with new capability development of repairs received.
• Maintain open two-way communication with Manager and teammates appropriately sharing both good and bad news.
• Maintaining personal shop calibrated tools is satisfactory operational condition.
• Comply with all safety directives and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Reports to Department Manager.
• Daily interaction with Quality Inspectors, Engineers, and buyers.
• Daily interaction with internal departments.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• A&P License (Preferred)
• Two (2) years of aviation experience
• Experience in industry with mechanical aptitude.

Abilities and Skills:

• Must multi-task/ be project-oriented and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced industry, meeting established timelines.
• Excellent verbal, writing, listening, and interpersonal skills to interact with all functional levels of internal contacts.
• Detail orientated and organized.
• Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
• Willing to work additional hours when operational objectives require it.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to exercise informed risk-taking in order to make judgement calls.
• Ability to prioritize and to work without close supervision.
• Two to Five (2-5) years of combined bench or testing experience for troubleshooting of Hydraulic components.
• Actuator, Actuator with Switch and Valve, PCU's, Hydraulic pumps, THSA and B-777 Strut Actuator and Hydraulic components.
• Extensive knowledge of Hydraulic components is required for this position.

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to bend, squat, sit, stand, walk, and handle objects.
• The employee is occasionally required to push/pull, stack, reach above shoulder level or carry light-weight materials.
• May be required to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
• Exposure to hazardous chemicals, abrasive blast residue, paint fumes, and high pitch sound may occur.
• Personal Protective Equipment is required in specified areas.
