Our Robot Learning team is responsible for training policies that learn a variety of whole-body directable skills, from locomotion to manipulation and climbing.About the RoleAs a full-time ML/AI Humanoid Robot Controls Engineer, you will be a core member of the Robot Learning team, responsible for bridging the gap between simulation and the physical world, ensuring our robots can operate across complex terrains and perform intricate tasks with reliability and precision. If it doesn't work on the robot, it doesn't work.Key ResponsibilitiesPolicy Training: Design and train advanced RL policies for locomotion and whole-body control (WBC) across diverse scenarios and terrains.Sim2Real: Determine the observations, actions, and model types that unlock maximum performance when deploying on real hardware.Robust Control: Expand our system's rock-solid tracking, time-determinism, and safety characteristics into a new set of whole body behaviors.Engineering Leadership: Mentor junior engineers, conduct rigorous code reviews, and enforce best software practices to maintain a world-class research culture.What You'll BringTechnical Expertise: Significant experience deploying whole-body control policies on real humanoid or legged hardware.Framework Proficiency: Deep knowledge of Python, PyTorch, and RL frameworks like IsaacLab or RSL-RL.Algorithmic Depth: Strong understanding of RL algorithms including PPO, SAC, and multi-task or hierarchical learning.Simulation Skills: Proficiency in physics-based simulators such as Isaac Sim or MujoCo for high-parallelism training.Ownership: A methodical approach to complex, long-horizon debugging and the initiative to solve problems independently.Education: A PhD or MS in Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field with a focus on robot learning or control.Compensation & BenefitsWe believe that those working on life-saving missions should share in the success of that mission.Salary Range: $180,000 – $250,000 annual salary.Equity
