House Museum is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Los Angeles that revitalizes underserved historic landmarks through contemporary art installations and community programming. Founded in 2022, we've built a growing network of 10 project sites from Los Angeles to the East Coast. Our innovative preservation work has been recognized by the Getty Conservation Institute and the National Trust for Historic Preservation, covered by the Los Angeles Times, Architectural Digest, The Guardian, and RadioFrance, and endorsed by civic leaders nationwide. Our current projects include: Project Chimney: the salvage of six historic chimneys from the 2025 Palisades Fire for a permanent public memorial and community gathering place in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles John Rowland Mansion: an 1850s California rancho with 11 newly installed site‑specific artworks, listed on the National Register of Historic Places Site‑Based Art Learning: a community‑benefit education program for high school students emphasizing hands‑on material engagement, collaborative practice, and reflective discourse through the Palisades Fire Memorial As we enter a new phase of organizational growth and capital development, we are seeking nonprofit board members who bring financial expertise, beyond-arts experience, and a commitment to cultural heritage, social equity, and community investment. Your Background / Qualifications Nonprofit finance, CFO leadership, or financial strategy and audit oversight Nonprofit or real estate law, board governance, and fiduciary oversight CDFI lending, community development finance, mission-driven banking, or real estate finance Philanthropic fundraising, major gift strategy, or nonprofit development leadership Family office relationships, private banking, donor-advised funds, or high-net-worth philanthropic capital Tax credit transactions, including New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC) and Historic Tax Credits (HTC) Others, if strongly aligned with the organization's mission Board service is a volunteer commitment, with quarterly meetings and as-needed project consultation.
