Certified Phlebotomy Technician
A-Team Solutions is seeking three certified phlebotomy technicians for a full-time contract position at the VA hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Coverage will start upon credentialing for an initial period of one year, with the option to extend. The expected schedule is Monday to Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Job duties include proficiency in phlebotomy, drawing blood by venipuncture and finger stick to obtain blood samples for various test procedures, adhering to safety, infection control, and universal precautions, providing initial aid for patient reactions, and ensuring proper processing and shipping of laboratory specimens. The selected individual will also provide information and guidance to physicians and clinic personnel on specimen collection and submission, research the availability of unusual testing, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements include certification as a phlebotomy technician (CPT), one year or more of experience, and BLS certification in accordance with the American Heart Association.
