Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.Job SummaryThe Space & Airborne Center within Systems Integration & Test seeks talented Systems Engineers. Our Space & Airborne team members located in El Segundo, CA integrate hardware and software, develop test plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, and verify system requirements in support of final sell-off to the customer. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. Every day is a different set of challenges to overcome. You'll be expected to collaborate across disciplines and partner to implement solutions. In this role, you'll get to know a little bit about every aspect of the system and have a direct hand in making it all work together supporting teams of engineers engaged in integration and test efforts. Our center focuses on back end sustainment and repair design and sustainment development as well as transitioning systems through integration and test from production to warranty/sustainment. You will also perform functional / physical analysis, allocation, and trade studies.You will support Radar Mode requirement verification, engineering testing, integration and flight-testing, production, system deployment, and post deployment support across the product lifecycle. Through Digital Transformation (DTx), you will perform these functions using a variety of methods and enabling technologies, which may include Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Agile product development.This position is an onsite role in El Segundo, CA. Test event support activity may require travel which is not expected to exceed 10%.What You Will DoSupport planning and execution of Integration, Verification, or Troubleshoot Test activities in our labs, in the field, or at a Depot facilitySupport activity may require travelSupport qualification of our productsSupport troubleshooting and failure data analyses, including root cause and corrective action processes and advanced use of lab or field test equipment Complete and compile detailed performance evaluations, including the use of analysis tools, such as MATLAB.Prepare and present results in reports and briefings to internal or external stakeholdersSupport in managing engineering support activities related to test and trouble-shoot of hardwarePerform root-cause analysis & implement minor design changesMaintain design specifications and drawings (Schematics & Assembly Drawings)Maintain engineering databasesCoordinate engineering tag up and meetings between the Program, System Engineering, Software team, and Chief EngineerResolve and coordinate system technical solutions with Engineering teamsProvide technical guidance and support to Engineering IPTLsParticipate in periodic team meetings, interface teleconference meetings, working group meetingsSupport associated with implementing process requirementsSupport for mock up hardware repairsSustainment/Depot returns and repairWhat You Will LearnAfter completion of comprehensive on-the-job training, the candidate will be part of a team supporting Systems Engineering, Systems Integration & Test activities across the product development lifecycle.Qualifications You Must HaveMaster's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering obtained prior to startExperience with tools, such as Microsoft Office, MATLAB or Python, for data analysis and automationExperience with troubleshooting technical issues with electronics in an academic or internship setting, including the use of common commercial test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.)Experience may be obtained through on?the?job experience, research, coursework, or projectsQualifications We PreferExperience with or exposure to various military platforms for weapons conveyance, such as ships, ground combat systems, fixed and rotary wing aircraftExperience with using telemetry data collection equipment to capture real time data and/or real time monitoringExperience with electrical schematics, interface control documentation, and communications protocolsExperience with reading and integrating software routines with hardware/electronics; C/C++/C# preferredExperience with instrumentation and collection of large data sets, including the application of scripting or automation to data collection and analysisWhat We OfferOur values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world.
