Job Description

The Equipment Yard Worker serves as a key liaison between the branch, customers, and drivers, ensuring that rental equipment is cleaned, maintained, and staged for delivery. This often entry-level position supports yard operations, verifies equipment returns, and responds to customer inquiries, providing a strong foundation for career growth into roles such as operations, sales, technician, or driver.

Responsibilities

• Clean, wash, and maintain heavy and construction equipment to ensure it is rental-ready and presentable for customers.
• Organize and stage equipment in the yard for efficient delivery and pickup by drivers.
• Assist with loading and unloading equipment from trucks in a safe and timely manner.
• Verify delivery and return tickets to confirm equipment accuracy and condition.
• Support shipping and receiving activities, including checking in and out equipment and related materials.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in the yard and shop at all times.
• Operate forklifts and other yard equipment in accordance with safety guidelines.
• Monitor and help manage inventory levels in the yard and shop.
• Answer customer inquiries in person and over the phone, providing guidance on equipment selection and basic usage.
• Resolve customer issues promptly and professionally or escalate them when necessary.
• Work on your feet for the entire shift, including frequent bending, squatting, reaching, and lifting.
• Collaborate closely with drivers, technicians, and operations staff to ensure smooth logistics and customer satisfaction.
• Power wash equipment and perform general labor tasks as needed to support yard and shop operations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kenner, LA.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
