Key Responsibilities

• Direct the implementation of physical therapy treatments tailored to each patient's needs, focusing on preventing disabilities, alleviating pain, and restoring muscle function.
• Oversee and mentor physical therapy assistants to ensure adherence to care plans, providing guidance and support throughout the patient's recovery journey.
• Conduct thorough assessments, applying diagnostic tests to evaluate muscle, nerve, joint, and functional abilities to create appropriate therapy plans.
• Observe and analyze patients' home environments and recommend modifications that enhance their independence and functionality.
• Deliver physical therapy services in accordance with physician protocols, providing hands-on treatment that may include manual therapeutic exercises, traction, and massage.
• Evaluate, fit, and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices for patients, consulting with physicians to recommend necessary modifications.
• Document clinical findings, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries to maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records.
• Participate actively in interdisciplinary team meetings to collaborate on patient care strategies and treatment evaluations.
• Communicate regularly with patients, families, and healthcare staff, providing clear instruction and education on therapeutic techniques and home exercise programs.
• Timely complete all required documentation and administrative duties, adhering to branch policies and guidelines.
• Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with best practices and emerging treatment modalities in physical therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The patients you will work with at Sunrise Orthopedics range from individuals recovering from surgery to those with chronic pain or mobility issues stemming from various orthopedic conditions. You will be expected to empathize with patients and their families, fostering a supportive environment and enabling patients to achieve their rehabilitation goals.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in physical therapy or a clinically equivalent program. Candidates with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) are preferred.
• An active Physical Therapist license in Florida, without any history of sanctions or board proceedings.
• Strong knowledge of manual therapy techniques and a proven ability to design effective exercise programs tailored to individual patients.
• Competence in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software for accurate and efficient documentation.
• Up-to-date understanding of physical therapy advancements backed by scientific research.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working in an outpatient rehabilitation setting is preferred.
• Proficiency in developing customized rehabilitation protocols and demonstrated success in managing complex patient cases.
