Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO) Sign-On Bonus – $20,000 for eligible CPOs Job Title : Orthotist/Prosthetist – Certified (CPO) Job Code : 3026 Department : O & P System FLSA Class : Salaried/Exempt Compensation : $76,000 (Starting, + Experience) Reporting Relationship : Operations Manager and/or Director of Clinical Operations Age‑Specific Responsibility Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in the assigned department. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to age‑specific needs. Essential Job Responsibilities Provide patient care, treatment, and services within the scope of the license, certification, or registration and as required by law and regulation. Assess patients with impairments of human movement or musculoskeletal abnormalities that would impede their ability to participate in their social environment or other activities, and determine functional intervention. Produce orthotic/prosthetic devices as prescribed by the referring physician. Formulate a treatment plan, with other health care providers as prescribed by the referring physician. Implement the orthotic and/or prosthetic treatment plan, and oversee certified assistants. Utilize a follow‑up treatment plan that ensures successful orthotic and prosthetic outcomes. Account for achieving financial targets and performance benchmarks as established by the manager. Maintain compliance with practice management plans to develop and document policies and procedures to ensure patient protection, which includes, but is not limited to: adherence to applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations maintaining a safe and professional environment for patient care comprehension of claims development and submission Maintain mandatory education requirements. Adhere to ABC Code of Professional Responsibility. Follow charting procedures and maintain records; complete in a timely manner according to department policy. Customer Service Responsibilities Demonstrate excellent customer service and standards of behavior, encourage, coach, and monitor the same in team members. Promote teamwork, direct communication with co‑workers, and deal discreetly and sensitively with confidential information. Responsibilities in Quality Improvement Identify problems and seek solutions. Promote patient/family satisfaction where possible; participate in departmental efforts to monitor and report customer service. Essential Job Qualifications Demonstrate knowledge and skills with upper and lower limb prosthetics, cranial, spinal, upper and lower limb orthotics, for pediatric and geriatric patients. Bachelor’s degree or higher in orthotics and prosthetics from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited program, or a Bachelor’s degree or higher in any major along with a post‑graduate orthotics and prosthetic certificate from a CAAHEP accredited program. Certification by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics (CPO) or Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC).
