Customer Service Representative

Job Title: Customer Service Representative (CSR) Location: Horizon Menlo Park, CA – 4060 Campbell Ave, Menlo Park, CA 94025 Pay: $28.00 - $29.00 per hour, plus performance bonuses up to $2,500 in summer. Job Overview The Customer Service Representative (CSR) serves as the primary point of contact for walk‑in and phone customers, facilitating sales of landscape and irrigation products with exceptional service and a positive attitude. Responsibilities Eagerly greet walk‑in and phone customers and listen to understand their needs and challenges. Treat customers as business partners by recommending product solutions, upsell options, and complimentary items designed to improve profitability. Collaborate with team members and utilize company resources to sell Horizon’s value and provide the best service experience possible. Prepare sales orders and assist customers in selecting and loading merchandise. Make follow‑up calls to potential and existing customers to introduce new opportunities and solicit additional business. Resolve customer complaints professionally and promptly. Maintain a clean, well‑organized, and well‑stocked sales center. Assist in receiving, shipping, and general warehouse duties. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Requirements Strong customer‑service attitude. Self‑motivated and detail‑oriented personality. Thrives in a fast‑paced environment focused on serving business owners with urgent needs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to ask questions and think critically to identify solutions. Cooperative, dependable team player. Good computer and record‑keeping skills; aptitude to learn evolving systems, programs, handheld technology, and processes. Ability to frequently lift and move items up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds; must possess or obtain forklift certification. Must be 18 years of age or older to apply. High school diploma or GED preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. Irrigation experience is a huge plus; knowledge of other landscape products helpful.
