Family Law Paralegal (High-Level Case Management Role)
This Is Not a Basic Support Role — It’s a High-Level Case Management Role
EXPERIENCED Family Law Paralegal to work on site in Miami Lakes
Costa & Associates is a growing boutique law firm in Miami Lakes focused exclusively on family law and transactional real estate. We are seeking an exceptional Florida Family Law Litigation Paralegal who has already demonstrated the ability to independently manage the progression of Florida family law cases from initial filing through final judgment while working closely with the supervising attorney.
This position is not designed for someone looking to learn family law or develop basic litigation skills.
We are looking for someone who has already earned the trust of the attorney they support by consistently taking ownership of their cases, anticipating the next step, exercising sound judgment, communicating professionally, and helping keep cases moving without constant direction.
If you take pride in being the person your attorney depends on, clients trust, and your team values, you may be exactly who we are looking for.
In return, you will have the opportunity to become an integral part of a growing boutique law firm where your experience, judgment, initiative, accountability, and contributions are genuinely valued . We are looking for a long-term professional who wants more than a job. We are looking for someone who wants to help build a practice, make a meaningful difference for clients, and become an indispensable member of our team.
Why High-Performing Paralegals Choose Our Firm
- Meaningful Responsibility – This is not a task-based support role. You will play a central role in the successful progression of family law cases, working closely with the supervising attorney and making a meaningful impact on every case you handle.
- Professional Trust & Respect – We hire experienced professionals because we value their judgment. We believe the best paralegals are trusted, respected, and empowered to take ownership of their work while maintaining open communication and accountability.
- A Voice That Matters – As a growing boutique law firm, your ideas, observations, and experience matter. We encourage initiative, continuous improvement, and thoughtful solutions that strengthen our systems, our team, and the service we provide clients.
- Purpose-Driven Work – Family law is more than paperwork. Every case represents a family navigating one of the most difficult periods of their lives. We are committed to providing exceptional legal representation while treating clients with professionalism, compassion, and respect.
- Long-Term Opportunity – We are building more than a law firm—we are building a team. We are looking for someone seeking a long-term professional home where excellent work is recognized, accountability is valued, and individual contributions genuinely make a difference.
Compensation & Benefits

- Performance Bonuses: Based on effectiveness, organization, and overall contribution
- Paid Time Off : After 120 days
- 8 paid firm holidays
- 8 paid vacation days annually, with partial availability during the first year & an additional day added yearly thereafter
- Contribution toward health insurance after 120 days

Responsibilities:What You’ll Do
- Independently manage the day-to-day progression of an assigned caseload of Florida family law matters from initial filing through final judgment while working closely with the supervising attorney.
- Take ownership of all court deadlines and internal deadlines, identifying issues before they become problems, and ensuring matters continue moving forward efficiently.
- Draft, review, and finalize pleadings, motions, notices, discovery, financial affidavits, parenting plans, marital settlement agreements, and other family law documents for attorney review.
- Analyze (not gather) financial records, supporting documentation, and disclosures to identify inconsistencies, organize information, and assist attorneys in case preparation and strategy.
- Coordinate hearings, mediations, discovery, court filings, and case deadlines while maintaining organized, complete, and court-ready files.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, opposing counsel, judicial assistants, court personnel, and third parties.
- Keep attorneys informed of important developments, potential issues, upcoming deadlines, and recommended solutions, not simply the existence of problems.
- Deliver an exceptional client experience by maintaining proactive communication, professionalism, compassion, and responsiveness throughout the life of each case.
- Contribute to the continued improvement of our systems, procedures, and overall case management processes through initiative, accountability, and thoughtful problem-solving.
Work Environment
- Full-time, in-person position in our Miami Lakes, Florida office
- Office hours: Monday-Thursday: 8:45 am - 5:45 pm & 5 pm Fridays (unpaid lunch break)
- Boutique law firm focused exclusively on Florida family law and transactional real estate, allowing our team to develop deep knowledge within our practice areas.
- Collaborative, team-oriented environment where professionalism, accountability, communication, and mutual respect are expected and appreciated.
- We believe in trusting experienced professionals, encouraging initiative, and maintaining open communication rather than micromanagement.
- Organized, systems-driven practice committed to continuous improvement, efficiency, and delivering an exceptional client experience.
- We value people who take ownership of their work, contribute positively to the team, and are committed to building a long-term professional home.
What You Bring

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to review financial records, identify inconsistencies, and assist in case preparation and strategy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the professionalism to effectively interact with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and colleagues.
Sound judgment, accountability, initiative, and the ability to solve problems while keeping attorneys informed and cases moving forward.
- Commitment to professionalism, teamwork, and delivering an exceptional client experience.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but not required.
Who Thrives Here
This position is ideal for someone who:
- Takes ownership of their work and consistently follows through without needing constant direction.
- Is the person their attorney trusts to keep cases organized, moving forward, and prepared.
- Accepts accountability, communicates proactively, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work.
- Solves problems, thinks critically, and brings solutions, not just issues, to the attorney.
- Treats clients with professionalism, compassion, patience, and respect during one of the most difficult times in their lives.
- Values teamwork, communicates respectfully with colleagues, and contributes to a positive, professional work environment.
- Welcomes feedback, embraces continuous improvement, and is committed to personal and professional growth.
- Takes pride in being dependable, organized, and someone others can count on.
- Is looking for a long-term professional home where trust is earned, contributions are recognized, and excellence is appreciated.
