E-Commerce Assistant Book Manager

This position oversees the daily operations of the e-commerce book and media department, ensuring efficient processes, quality standards, and strong customer and employee engagement. Job Responsibilities Maintain established productivity goals for Departments 187 and 189 without a loss of quality of work Train new employees and provide ongoing guidance and individual training to improve performance Learn and lead the flow of books and media through the sales cycle: receiving, warehousing, scanning, listing, stocking, shipping, etc. Quickly and efficiently process books across all product categories as directed Track production output as well as product levels and record on the appropriate form Maintain work areas in a neat and orderly manner with clean‑up activities performed throughout the day Record assigned metrics and complete daily reports Update Daily, Weekly, and Monthly reports for the e‑commerce team as directed Operate and troubleshoot the book shipping machine; reach out to necessary contacts for support when needed Provide high‑profile leadership and direction by maintaining positive customer service and employee morale Accountable for all aspects of E‑Commerce Book and Media Operations Ensure safety and security are maintained, reporting all problems/hazards immediately Meet sales goals, both in revenue and profit Reach listing goals by monitoring the production processes and ensuring listing/receiving staff are well trained Manage supervisors and all employees in the absence of the E‑Commerce Senior Operations Manager Ensure proper training of employees regarding company policies, procedures, job requirements, and equipment operation, safety, security, and department housekeeping Manage all aspects of online marketplaces including eBay, Amazon, Alibris, etc. Ensure merchandise is listed in accordance with written guidelines from corporate staff and verbal/written instructions of the E‑Commerce Director List merchandise to optimize sales, considering maximization of recovered value Open and close the department and handle all related activities if directed by the E‑Commerce Operations Manager Address customer needs, handle and resolve complaints with conflict‑resolution skills, and prevent problem escalation in a courteous professional manner at all times Develop and manage vendor relationships, including marketplaces, industry partners, and suppliers Stay current with marketplace rules and regulations to ensure compliance and customer satisfaction Collaborate with the Facilities department to address and correct concerns Work with corporate Loss Prevention and Safety to protect company assets at all times Ensure all purchase orders are completed promptly and correctly Oversee training of NOW participants assigned to the department Perform other duties as assigned by the E‑Commerce Operations Manager Act as the E‑Commerce Operations Manager in their absence Requirements Proficient in the English language Preferred Qualifications / Experience Bachelor’s degree or three years of relevant experience preferred Equipment Used Book Shipping Machine Forklift Pallet Jack Electric Stacker Book Tipping Machine Management Acumen Management style that empowers employees through coaching and positive motivational techniques Organizational skills: results‑oriented, able to meet high standards, goals, and objectives Accountability style: holds employees accountable, serves as a mentor, and welcomes 360‑degree feedback Collaborative: values effective relationships with others Teamwork: willing to work as part of a team and shares credit with colleagues Problem solving: simplifies complicated issues and develops traditional and nontraditional solutions Integrity: possesses the highest ethical standards, trustworthy and transparent Interpersonal savvy: builds constructive relationships with employees, customers, clients, and board members Composure: remains calm and collected under pressure Communication: strong communicator, excellent listener, and effective presenter to Goodwill employees, senior management, and board members #J-18808-Ljbffr Ebay
